Stretching does just what it says to a muscle, and a stretched out muscle is both weaker and less stable. What is important is to warm up the muscles to be used prior to a workout. Get on a stair climber before doing squats, for example, use light weight before moving on to heavy weights. Save the stretches for after the workout. Stretching a muscle that has not been properly warmed up can cause injury before the workout even begins.]]></description>
