I've become a big fan of the AB-wheel in my old age, as well as front bridges(either on elbows or using a kettlebell). Your point on the core is well-taken. I think it's particularly true of nurses in terms of preventative need for core stregnth. If you work on the floor, you are at risk for back problems, but if you are a desk jockey(doing phone triage or case management), you are probably even more at risk for back and neck problems. Bottom line, doing core stregnth movements are going to benefit you no matter what where nursing practice is.

Great work - I totally agree about the core emphasis. I have a "bad back" which basically means a weak core. Why? Because I'm lazy and don't keep my core strong. Shame on me. I only have myself to blame.

But I have to say... there's one more thing you need beyond core work... SUNSCREEN! :)
