So I’m becoming quite the media chunk addict. My time spent on Twitter has increased 2-fold. I seem to spend quite a bit of time ‘micro-blogging’ and sharing links. It seems to go in waves. On days I have time, I spend the time tweeting.

If I’m not tweeting, I’m reading blogs, posting blogs, or making my way through the information highway Web 2.0. I am an avid Google Reader. I use my Google Reader to read my news as well as sift through the conglomerate of blogs I follow and blogs that interest me. I discovered by accident some time ago that the FireFox browser and Google Reader make great friends. There are numerous Grease Monkey Scripts that allow you to read your blogs, share the information and even email from your Google Reader without actually leaving the page! And this is a huge time save when you’re reading multiple blogs and other sources of information.

I’m quite the information aggregator sometimes, and my geeky-nerdiness shows. I’m always looking for new and efficient ways to share and transmit information as well as try to keep my finger on the pulse of Web 2.0.

I know of and have signed up for many social aggregator sites to try and centralize my activities on the Web, but I must say none have really ‘synced’ with my habits. Everything from Lifestream.fm  to Profilactic and then FriendFeed.

I was always told FriendFeed was the top dog, and that ‘everyone’ was using it. Everyone except me.

Until recently it was just another one of those Web 2.0 services that I had, but never had a use for. The other day Ken, from Change Forge, posted a ‘question’ on Twitter. It had a link you clicked, and low and behold you were on his FriendFeed. The really cool thing about the whole scenario was how you could see everyone’s answer to the question as it was happening all on one page. And you could add more than one entry if you so desired.

This was the one thing that always bothered and still bothers me about the Twitter timeline. Someone will Tweet a question, and you’ll get other Tweeps Tweeting replies, but unfortunately you either have to know the original question, or you have to scroll through the timeline to figure out what the question is, and what the other answer may or may not  be. And that’s determined by how many Tweets you and the person who originated the Tweet share/follow the same Tweeps.

(Tweep = Twitter + Peep)

(Tweet= Posting a message on Twitter)

I come to find out there is more to FriendFeed than meets the eye. A whole lot more options for meshing(mashing) your activities across the FriendFeed – Twitter border.

So now every time I do ‘something’ Web 2.0 style, it will become a Tweet on Twitter. In my opinion this is really cool, and a fabulous way to share your information.

It’s customizable, and may take a lil’ tweaking due to the possibility of overloading Twitter with repeat posts. So you may have to pay attention. I know I had to run a couple tests.

I think there is some great potential for my fellow medi-tweets out there. We could post a question and/or discussion. And then have it discussed in FriendFeed, where we could see what everyone is thinking and what everyone’s thoughts are all on one page! And get notified of the discussion on Twitter.

How cool would that be?

Come find me on FriendFeed, sign up if you haven’t already and subscribe to my feed here.
