Paramedicine Sexual Crimes?

It seems there has been an increase in the number of accusations and/or committed sexual crimes on and off duty in the Paramedicine community.
It’s one thing to report disturbing facts but this article bothered me because of the blanket accusation against the Paramedicine community in general.
“It’s a dream job for a sexual predator,” said Greg Kafoury, a Portland, Ore., lawyer who represents three women who were groped by a paramedic. “Everything is there: Women who are incapacitated, so they’re hugely distracted. Medical cover to put your hands in places where, in any other context, a predator would be immediately recognized as such.”
That statement bothers me. I mean that’s a lil overboard and a lil harsh. I thought we were innocent until proven guilty?
I foresee there being a tremendous public scare and public outcry in the wake of this news. I personally know many ‘ambulance attendants’ and this angers me.

it is disturbing to me too. after all, we are in the same environment as the paramedics. women/men in distress who are easily distracted, sick enough not to notice being harassed… i take care of them everyday, and not even one single time have i thought of putting my hands in places i am not supposed to just for the sexual high of it. never.
