Cell Phones : A Walking Hazard

Yes you’ve heard of the attempt at banning cell phone use while driving. To me and most others, it’s common sense to pay attention to your driving, and NOT to your phone. Especially trying to send and receive text messages while driving!

Now it seems children are learning distraction at an early age. Instead of driving while texting, they are walking and texting? Which in some cases has led to walking out in the middle of an intersection full of oncoming traffic??!!

  1. Totally agree with Tusc on this one. Some people just have no common sense when it comes to talking or texting.

  4. I had a teen with a texting injury in the ER once. She was drunk and texting on her BlackBerry. Walked right into a jutting wall corner and split her head open. And was texting about the texting injury while I put LET on the lac. I felt this was extremely dedicated on her part.

  9. It’s banned in the UK. And it really annoys me when I see drivers with a phone to their ears. You get a handsfree wire with every model, so why dont people use them? Not cool, I suppose? So they rather run someone over than be a bit uncool while in the car? Jeez!

As for kids, same rule should apply when they are walking around, let alone on a bike.

I dont know why people have to be on their phones everywhere they go; along the street, on the bus, on the train, at the checkout in a shop….etc It’s almost like a status symbol these days of how many friends you have to speak to about nonsense!

Personally, I prefer to be having my conversations in private. But maybe I’m just totally uncool!

Such a great tool and yet cant be so dangerous :(
