We Are The Problem – Not Our Health Care Insurance

Posted by Sean on December 29, 2009

I read this article this morning! This hits the nail on the head and reemphasizes everything I have been saying about personal responsibility and one’s health management.

Stop blaming other’s for your health problems.

If you eat too much, exercise too little, drink too much, smoke, take drugs, fail to wear a seat belt or ignore gun safety, there is only so much a doctor or hospital can do for you.

They Call me..

Posted by Sean on December 25, 2009

Guess what Santa brought me?
Just call me Under Armour. (Just ask my co-workers)

To add to my collection of the gazillion Under Armour pieces of gear I own. I should take a picture of all the gear I own. It’s rather disturbing- yes I have a problem. ? Do you think I like this stuff or what?

Michael Vick A Courageous Athlete??

Posted by Sean on December 25, 2009

Each year, the Ed Block Courage Awards honors those National Football League players who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. Recipients are selected by their teammates for team effort, as well as individual performance.

The Ed Block Courage Award recipient symbolizes professionalism, great strength and dedication. He is also a community role model.

I don’t know about you but this description does not motivate me, nor encourage me to think of Michal Vick of all people. Yes, he paid his dues. Yes, he did is time for the crime. Yes, he has a lot to prove.

But Courageous?

C’mon?

Seriously?

I’ve Fallen And I Can’t …

Posted by Sean on December 22, 2009

We alllllll remember this commercial:

Can’t forget LifeCall can we? (I honestly think the humorous nature of the commercial is what became so popular) but the message was a good one! Those in need of help without assistance could ‘call’ for help with this fancy gadget.

Well fast-forward 20+ years and now we have alert text messaging! It seems that a company is trying to expedite and iron out the wrinkles when dealing with the sea of information during an emergency.

With the partnered help of the American Ambulance Association medics will soon be trained on this new service. The iBracelet started small and locally in the state of Oklahoma, but has received enough attention to go nationwide.

The service offers a website where you can list up to 10 emergency contacts to  be notified when you are rushed to the hospital as well as store a database of critical health information so that the EMS and hospital personnel can properly take care of you and your needs!

Where is the drawbacks to this!!??

Sign me and my family up!

How Small We Really Are

Posted by Sean on December 21, 2009

I always like to keep things in perspective. When it comes to our own personal bravado and the incessant annoyances of celebrities and their likes, I truly am amazed at how ‘BIG’ we think of ourselves.

This video puts things back in perspective. It’s a tad long, but worth the view.

Just how big are we? Really?
