I caught the tail end of this story on the radio yesterday during my commute. Apparently Dez Bryant, during NFL training camp this season, refused to be ‘hazed’. One of the hazing rituals the Dallas Cowboys have is for rookie players to carry the seasoned players shoulder pads.
Well Dez thought he was above, or better than this ritual. A whole lot of talk ensued on the internets:

So then to make amends I guess Dez offered to take his teammate out for breakfast? (so the story goes).
In the end the joke was on Dez, and he ended up paying for breakfast for the better part of the entire team (I think?)
I guess the ‘team’ thought it would be funny if Dez footed a bill to teach him a ‘hazing’ lesson??
At least this is the story I heard.
Regardless, the point of my story is this. It must be nice to think that a practical joke worth more than what some blue-collared workers make in one year is funny.
Hah
Hah
Hah
Boy, that sure was funny. You spent more money ‘in jest’ than most of us earn to make a living for the year?
Whew..
That really was funny. I’m still smiling at that one.
I guess you have to be rich to appreciate that kind of humor huh?
Dez Bryant buys steak dinner for teammates; final bill almost $55,000
“They got the young fella,” Bryant’s adviser, David Wells, told ESPNDallas, which reported the bill to be $54,896. “What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month.”
This isn’t the first gift Bryant has offered teammates. The rookie — who declined to carry Roy Williams’ shoulder pads earlier in camp — presented his fellow receivers with Air Jordan Olympic 7s. He also picked up the Madden NFL 11 video game for himself and Williams.
