So Apparently Being Rich Involves an Expensive Sense of Humor?

Posted by Sean on September 29, 2010

I caught the tail end of this story on the radio yesterday during my commute. Apparently Dez Bryant, during NFL training camp this season, refused to be ‘hazed’. One of the hazing rituals the Dallas Cowboys have is for rookie players to carry the seasoned players shoulder pads.
Well Dez thought he was above, or better than this ritual. A whole lot of talk ensued on the internets:

So then to make amends I guess Dez offered to take his teammate out for breakfast? (so the story goes).
In the end the joke was on Dez, and he ended up paying for breakfast for the better part of the entire team (I think?)
I guess the ‘team’ thought it would be funny if Dez footed a bill to teach him a ‘hazing’ lesson??
At least this is the story I heard.

Regardless, the point of my story is this. It must be nice to think that a practical joke worth more than what some blue-collared workers make in one year is funny.
Hah
Hah
Hah
Boy, that sure was funny. You spent more money ‘in jest’ than most of us earn to make a living for the year?

Whew..
That really was funny. I’m still smiling at that one. :|

I guess you have to be rich to appreciate that kind of humor huh?

Dez Bryant buys steak dinner for teammates; final bill almost $55,000

“They got the young fella,” Bryant’s adviser, David Wells, told ESPNDallas, which reported the bill to be $54,896. “What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month.”

This isn’t the first gift Bryant has offered teammates. The rookie — who declined to carry Roy Williams’ shoulder pads earlier in camp — presented his fellow receivers with Air Jordan Olympic 7s. He also picked up the Madden NFL 11 video game for himself and Williams.

Did you say sweet tooth?

I love this website, if only to support and prove the notion that our nation is obese for a reason.
People find creative ways to get fatter.

*sigh*

What The Weather?

Posted by Sean on September 28, 2010

Well today was one of those drives where one minute you have no rain, then a torrential down pour.
5 miles down the road it is sprinkling ,then the sky clears.
You spend the whole trip fiddling with your windshield wiper speed so that you don’t get that darn skip-dragging nails-on-chalkboard noise effect.

Guess I should not complain. It could be snowing.

Fall Season Sweets

Posted by Sean on September 27, 2010

Whew
I tell ya. Adjusting to my new schedule with school, work and my commuting has really thrown my body out of whack.
I’m having to pay more attention to what I eat.
And what shows up at work today?
This!

I can happily say I didn’t indulge, but boy was I close.

HighLighter Burnout

Posted by Sean on September 25, 2010

Is it high lighter? Or highliter? Or how about hi-liter?
Hmm..
Any-hoo – it seems that I’m quite the high lighting addict. I’ve already
burned through my brand new high lighter 3+ weeks into the semester. I’m not
quite sure what that means to tell you the truth? I do high light quite a
bit truth be told.
I am the yellow-only kind of student though. All those different colors in
my books and notes: color-overload.

Yes, this is another fun-fact brought to your S.O.S. blogger (Stressed Out
Student – if you forgot what S.O.S. means).

We now take you back to your regularly schedule internet browsing, thank you
for listening (err.. uuhh.. reading).

Do You Like (Or Use) Pig?

Posted by Sean on September 23, 2010

I’ll bet you do – and you didn’t even know it (I sure didn’t)!
This is a fascinating TED talk concerning how we utilize a single pig for 185 different products world-wide.
Amazing.

The Danger Of EKG Patches

Posted by Sean on September 23, 2010

Yeah, yeah.. this is yet another nurse-humor joke. Then again, if you’re a male who has ever had those EKG patches put on – you might appreciated the humor in this.
I still remember a colleague (a very long-time seasoned nurse) who referred to the leads/patches as ‘daisies’.
Ahh.. gewd times.

Saw this just a lil while ago on Twitter – not quite sure what it is. But it seems to be exploiting the new features of the web interface of the ‘new’ Twitter.

Be careful out there.

It’s comforting to know I use TweetDeck.

Whew..
