Apparently the monitor module hook-up for the ECG monitoring cable is almost the exact same size, shape and dimension as the arterial line monitoring cable?
Upon the return of a patient from the OR today. A couple of nurses spent 5 quality minutes trying to forcefully insert the ECG monitoring cable into the monitor slot supposedly made for the arterial line cable.
It took said nurses almost 5 minutes to realize that even though they were not trying to push a square peg through a round hole… not all round holes are made the same.
Reportedly said nurses got a pretty big laugh at their failing skills.
At least that’s what I heard.
