Warning: I might get a bit metaphysical.
I decided at least once a week I would try some deep thought type blog posts. I’ve been thinking about this roller coaster adventure called my life, both personally and professionally. Let’s just say you would not have recognized the ‘me’ from a decade ago. I was a completely different being all together. I was disorganized, lost, and frankly just floating along the river bumping into whatever crossed my path. I can’t say I had much direction other than moving forward and not backward. I really didn’t have a ‘plan’ so-to-say.
I’m not a very religious person, but do you remember that lil’ story about the guy driving by in his fancy car and a kid throws a brick at his car… it was titled: “Don’t go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!” (Go read it if you’re not familiar with the story)
Well, I literally had that brick thrown at me. I had to be hospitalized with a severe injury to really have my eyes opened for me
One thing lead to another (more details later) and now here I am on the cusp of attaining my graduate degree in nursing with the hopes of sitting and passing my national Nurse Practitioner certification exam?!
It’s all very surreal. And I was trying to figure out a way to put my thoughts into words. I decided one a week I would pick a point to ponder. It might be something random, or it could be non-random and on purpose. All I know is that I was a late-bloomer in life, and for some strange reason I was given one heck of second chance. I’d like to think I was meant to be ‘here’ in my ‘here and now’. Had I not made the choices I made, followed the path it lead for me, lost what I lost and gained what I gained I’m almost 100% positive I would not be sitting so pretty.
My life, both personally and professionally, is blooming and ‘booming’ these days. I have an absolutely breathingly-beautiful wife who is the foundation of all things good in my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life. My place within my career is skyrocketing with my pending degree and new advanced practice role. I have wonderful friends and am loved by a great family. And my health couldn’t be better considering all the stresses I impose upon it.
So I decided to make sure I keep myself grounded and appreciate out loud all of the blessings I have by recognizing and remembering.
By thinking about it.

I think you got the point. I plan on posing an interesting ‘thought’ or ‘topic’ and then I’ll “think about it”, and maybe even ask you to ‘think about it’.
Heck I may even take a que from the Flight of the Concords:
Ohhhh c’mon. You know I had to end this on a funny. As always I hope you stick around for the conversation. Thanks for being a part of my journey.
