Valentine’s day is just another day in my household. My wife and I decided many years ago that it’s much more important for us to recognize each other every day of our lives than to try and overdo it on just February 14th. A holiday in which a ton of money is wasted on material gifts that either are wasted or eventually go bad (or die… like flowers).
We’ve kept that promise to each other over the years and in my opinion we still do a pretty darn good job of making sure the other knows how much they are loved with little acts of kindness.
For instance my wife loves to do the above with my necklace when I’m in the shower. And it warms my heart each time she does it.
I for one believe that surprises should be made everyday of the year, not only on a holiday that comes around once a year.
This year Valentine’s Day was a tad more difficult than most because we had to spend the day and night away from each other. So it sort of sucked. But none the less I got to see her the next day, and all was right with my world again.
I hope your Valentine’s day was an enjoyable day filled with love.
Nice. Agree 100%. Loved the necklace.
