How do Nurses develop a “thick set of skin”?

How do we ‘toughen up’ enough to battle the daily emotional roller coaster without becoming numb to it?

We deal with a lot of emotions during a single day on the job, how do we maintain our sanity without losing our humanity?

Here are three basic tips to help develop that thick set of skin without becoming an emotionless robot:

1. Self awareness
2. Self confidence
3. Don’t take the stresses of work home with you
