So you are a ‘professional’. A ‘professional’ athlete. You are PAID for your athletic abilities. Your OCCUPATION is to PLAY a game.
Yet, you can’t pass a basic conditioning test? A test all of your equal can do and probably surpass.
Athletics in general and the very meaning of the word ‘game’ suggest a competition or at the very least the will to compete.
Hmm..
What if a regular blue-collared worker could not ‘pass’ a basic entrance test that all co-workers were able to complete?
Would the regular Joe be fired?? Or would he get multiple chances????
GRR.
This is what is wrong with our society today. Spoiled grown ups.
You are getting PAYED to PLAY a game! And you’re getting paid A LOT of money to do that. You make more money in one month, than most of us blue-collared workers make in a year, or 5 years or sometimes a life time!

This Is What We Teach Our Youth: Athletic Performance Is All That Matters.
Posted by Sean on November 9, 2009

As long as you can perform well, nothing else matters. As long as your athletic ability is above par, all else will be forgiven, forgot, and ignored. Because in the end it’s all about the money. The money you can earn personally and the money you can potentially earn for the organization that hires you.
If you produce the results, nothing else matters.
Or does it?
It seems that we constantly ‘turn the other cheek’ whenever a high-profile, successful professional athlete breaks the law and performs acts of misconduct – basically acts as if the laws of our government and the rules/regulations of the game they play do not apply to them.
As in the case with Larry Johnson.
It’s taken how long, and how many infractions for someone to dig their head out of the ‘pay dirt’ and set his actions straight.
It’s about time. Chiefs release RB Larry Johnson – Yahoo! News
And you wonder why we have such unlawfulness with our youth? You wonder why our teenagers have no disregard for the law – and have no idea how to play by the rules.
Why should they? Their icons, heroes, and superstars never have to?
Just sayin’.

Dietary Supplement = Steroid??
Posted by Sean on July 25, 2009
It seems in the race to be the best, even the best intentions come with risks.
Federal authorities submitted a claim that the above dietary supplements contain steroids. Steroids, which if you didn’t know are quite illegal.
I guess these products are popular amongst the high school football athlete.
Tren Extreme and Mass Extreme, manufactured by American Cellular Labs promotes these products as a safe ‘legal’ alternative to steroids.
OOPS
The horrible effects that steroids can wreak on the human body are too numerous to discuss, let alone their effects on a growing young athlete. Let’s just say, hospitals would be come your best friend.
Not sure where this will lead, but the manufacturer and the businesses who are selling the product aren’t sayin’ much right now.
Let’s hope it was a simple case of ‘we didn’t know’.
