What should you expect during your 1st year working as a Nurse?

That first year is a doozy. You find out quickly you don’t know what you think you know. And what you do know you question.

It’s an equally exciting, scary, fun, overwhelming and rewarding experience. You are relearning things you thought you had mastered, and you’re learning an infinite amount of new and complicated things that they just could not cover during Nursing school.

Here are five things that stood out in my mind about that first year:

1. Fear
2. Did I even go to school?
3. Tough resilience
4. Laughter
5. Pride
